ABOUT THE AWARD
The award is designed to recognize actual Realtors and related Real Estate professionals (such as Appraisers, Escrow companies, and a few select others) for the valuable services they provide their respective communities. It is intended to help consumers distinguish these professionals from all of the 'Agent Finder' and 'Referral' sites that have come to dominate the internet.
We strongly believe that many companies are doing a disservice to consumers in their role as internet 'middlemen'. These companies are not in a position to determine who a 'Top Local Agent' is or pretend to know anything of substance about the communities they purport to serve. These companies will give the 'Top Local Agent' title to anyone that is willing and able to pay monthly advertising fees. Our experience is that most consumers appear to be unaware of how this 'referral process' actually works: that it truly is nothing more than advertising.
Distinguishing true Real Estate professionals and their websites is a necessary start to increasing consumer awareness. That is the purpose and motivation for this award.
BENEFITS OF THIS AWARD
It may take some time before our goal of consumer awareness has truly noticeable affects in your site's favor. However, one of the most immediate benefits to your site is that we have partnered with a company that has built a Real Estate search engine (Visit Realquix.com). Every site that has earned this award and is properly displaying it on their site will receive a FREE enhanced listing on the search engine (submission to the search engine will be free, too.) In addition, we have pre-purchased FRONT-PAGE advertising space on this search engine that will recommend people use sites displaying the award. Keep your eyes on the lookout for this exciting project!
IF YOU WISH TO APPLY FOR THIS AWARD:
If you wish to apply for this award your web site must fit the following criteria:
Related to the field of Real Estate. This includes Realtors, Brokers, Escrow, Title, Appraisers, and select others. If you feel your site qualifies even though it is not listed then go ahead and apply---but make your case.
Your site should be indexed by at least 3 of these major search engines: Google, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Ask Jeeves,
Alta Vista, AllTheWeb, Teoma, Hotbot, Overture, or Lycos.
If your web site in indexed by Google then your 'pagerank' can be no less than 3 (though 4 or better is preferred)
Your site can not be a directory or strictly 'referral' in nature.
Your site can not be National in scope. The only exceptions are for 'niche' services that often aren't regionally represented well, such as FSBO or foreclosure sites.
Your site must offer at least 4 of the 5 following services: CMA or Home Value Estimates, buyer and seller articles, community information pages, home search tools, mortgage info.
Your physical address and telephone number should be easily viewable.
If your web site satisfies these basic standards then submit your information using the input-boxes provided below.
DISPLAYING THE AWARD
First and foremost, if you have any difficulties regarding placement of the award on your site please feel free to send us an email. We'll be glad to assist you in any way.
Now, some of you may have noticed that the award does link to our web site. We want to be very clear about this: while we are very grateful for the link, it is not necessary for you to include that link to display the award. If you wish to display the award with out the link you can do one of two things: either email us for the code that doesn't include the link OR we can send you the award as an 'image' for you to load onto your site. However, if you choose to display the award with out the link you will not be eligible for the free enhanced listing and submission on our partners Real Estate search engine. The award will look like the image below:
WILL ANYTHING HAPPEN TO MY SITE?
Nothing. The award will be displayed, that's it. We don't monitor your traffic or your visitors and there is nothing designed to 'interfere' with your web site. There aren't any 'pop-ups', banners, or anything else designed to attract your visitors in any way.
